Flip
To Next Page:
Pressing
Command-Tab will flip to the next page/spread and Command-Shift-Tab
will flip to the previous page/spread.
PDX Files:
PDX
files are no longer necessary for PageMaker 5. You can throw them
all away!
Resize Bitmaps:
Holding
down the command key while resizing bitmapped graphics will constrain
the graphic to the proportional resolution of your target printer.
Magnifying Glass:
Holding
Command-Space Bar will bring up the magnifying glass and allow you
to click-and-drag-zoom up to 800%. Command-Option-Space Bar will
allow you to zoom out (just like Freehand, Illustrator & Photoshop)!
Importing And Compressing TIFF Files:
Holding
down Command-Option while importing an uncompressed TIFF image will
compress the TIFF and save it in the same folder with the new compressed
name (adding an 3LD2 to the end of it) and link the imported graphic
to the new compressed file.
Maintained Character Spacing:
PageMaker
(since version 2.0) has always maintained character spacing attributes
within the document, so even if you have the wrong font loaded it
will not re-flow! (Unfortunately, if you try to edit that text block
then the font takes on the attributes of the substituted font, and
you'll get re-flow!)
Remove Linked Text:
To
remove some text from a linked text grouping, Cut it to the Clipboard
then Paste it back down.
